Maiti Nepal has been conducting a program called "Students Against Girl Trafficking" in the schools of various districts to motivate students to participate in social awareness campaigns against girls and women trafficking. In this program, creative competitions and informative programs are conducted in order to enhance the creativity and skills of the students. Interaction programs with the teachers about the problems of girls and women trafficking have also been initiated. Maid Nepal has been regularly meeting with leaders of different political parties and Members of Parliament, and has been organizing interaction workshops with them in order to create awareness among them on the problem, and to motivate them to present girls and women trafficking as a national issue. Maiti Nepal hands out appeals and information to the parliamentarians on the first day of each session of Parliament. The appeals request them to be active against girls and women trafficking. Maiti Nepal has organized two interaction workshops for leaders of the main political parties and parliamentarians. Maid Nepal organizes cross-border workshops participated in by representatives of government and non-government organizations and institutions from Nepal and India. These cross-border workshops discuss in depth the prevailing situation of girl and woman trafficking from Nepal into India and abroad, and on measures to prevent girls and women trafficking in the towns located at the main border exit/entry points. | |||||||
