Child Care

Maiti Nepal has established a separate children's home for the rehabilitation and
protection of destitute and orphan children, and also conducts various programs in this
respect. Maiti Nepal has constructed a separate building for shelter and rehabilitation
of orphan and destitute children at Gaushala in Kathmandu. This shelter can
accommodate up to 180 children. While the children aged between five to eighteen
go to school, those who are under five who live in the shelter.
The number of orphan and destitute children
coming to Maiti Nepal is increasing.
Keeping in view that it would be difficult to
send all the children to a Boarding School
and provide them with the necessary
materials, Maiti Nepal established
"Teresa Academy" from its own resources.
This Academy aims to provide education
up to Class 10 and can accommodate
up to 350 students.
