The Day My God Died has been NOMINATED for an EMMY Award

The AWARD ceremony will be on Monday evening, September 19, 2005 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD TO BE PRESENTED TO HBO¹S

The 26th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Award nominations were announced today by the National Television Academy in New York. The awards recognize outstanding achievement by individuals and programs broadcast during the2004 calendar year.

Once again PBS programs led the pack for the second year in a row with 27nominations, tying with ABC for most nominations overall. NOVA received a total of 5 nominations, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SPECIALS received 4, P.O.V received 3, AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, FRONTLINE, INDPENDENT LENS, NATURE and WIDE ANGLE received 2 nominations each and CHARLIE ROSE, THE NEWSHOUR, DNA and THIS IS A GAME LADIES rounded out the PBS nominations with 1 each.

Independent Lens gets 2 Emmy nominations for "Best Documentary"

Dear 2004-05 Independent Lens Producers,

I am absolutely delighted to share the great news that two of our episodes from the past Independent Lens season have been nominated for "Best Documentary" by the National Television Academy. As many of you know, two of our episodes from the previous season were also nominated for "Best
Documentary" and we won the award for BE GOOD, SMILE PRETTY. It is unprecedented for a new series to receive nominations in this category, especially two nominations for "Best Documentary" and especially two years in a row.

Below is a rundown of PBS nominations, and attached is a complete list of the nominations.. In addition, two other ITVS funded documentaries were nominated in other categories, including Best Direction. Both EVERY MOTHER'S SON and THE LOST BOYS OF SUDAN were broadcast on P.O.V.
